About theGOspot
theGOspot was a ’God Idea’ given to East Texas local products, Mark and Alaina Strait in February of 2009.
The project started out as an endeavor to see if it would be possible to get the area cities and towns’ resources pulled together into one place so that there would be a central hub we could all use to find local events and family activities more easily.
About seven months were spent networking, collecting information and making some amazing, new friends at the local chambers of commerce, civic groups, event venues, non-profit agencies, and countless other organizations. Soon thereafter, theGOspot.com search engine and website design concepts were developed with the aid of the team at Encore Multimedia in Longview, TX. (Thanks Steven, Drake, and Jen)
Our prayer is that this will be a community resource that goes and grows with our area to promote the ’awesomeness’ that is East Texas and to not only help us play harder and smarter, but show us how we might also better serve our local community as well.
